Message I could very well say the same thing about the mod you have done, i.e., "buyer beware". 12K miles is less mileage than what I have seen new VTC sprockets last and that's the most number of miles on one of your sets.

I would like to know the results of applying some force to the face of your modified VTC sprockets.

Time and testing will reveal the truth, yes. We obviously have different opinions on what that result wil be, but we've known that for a while now.

I really wish you would comment on my statement about the stiffer spring creating additional "locking" of the piston helix teeth to both the outer body and cam helix, thereby preventing the outer body from chattering back and forth against the rear thrust face. This is the only explanation I can see that allows your modification to prevent the noise because we know it isn't the piston coming up off the stop and slapping back down else mine would still be rattling. Would you agree that this is the reason your modification prevents the noise?
